Youth Group: What To Expect

Youth Group has a loose relationship centered structure (so it doesn’t feel like school!).

• We, group leaders, greet teens as they arrive and gather near the front door. At 6:30 we all head upstairs to the Youth Room. Snacks are provided.
  
• We sit in a circle of cozy chairs and couches, light a candle, and take a breath. We share names, pronouns, our highs and lows from the week and any prayer requests. We pray for all the prayer requests. This part of the gathering lasts about 30 minutes.
  
• We then discuss a topic of the day for about 30 minutes.
  
• We end the night by playing a game for about 30 minutes. Midnight Werewolf is a current favorite.
  
• You’ll find our group engaged in fun things throughout the year: cheering on our favorite Roller Derby teams, cooking for Community Meal, fundraising for First Nations Kitchen, planning the Ash Wednesday Service, hiding all the eggs for our Fabulous Easter Egg Hunt, and attending each other’s performances and games.
  
• Our priest describes our Youth Group as “thoughtful, hilarious, creative and kind.”
