We love our Tweeners!
“Tweeners” is the name we give to the 3-6 graders.
In this unusual year of 2020, our Tweeners are meeting weekly online on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:45pm through Zoom. Our leaders, MiaLisa Millares and Emily Topinka, have a variety of topics for the group. The point of Tweeners is to develop friendships and this year the focus is on connection. The group has discussions, plays games, does online escape rooms and Disney Plus watch parties! For more information or to get on the email list, reach out to MiaLisa.
How Else Can Tweeners Participate?
Sunday School! From 9:00-9:45am on Sunday mornings our school aged children gather for our innovative Zoom Sunday School. This year we are using the Lectionary Whirl curriculum. Since we are meeting virtually this year, the Sunday School team is working together to provide a mix of Spark curricula. Sunday school children do introductions, sing songs, read stories with the pictures in a share screen and we show a weekly digital video that relates to the Bible reading. For more about that Sunday School, go here.
Every Christmas we hold the Christmas Pageant, and children are welcome to participate at any age. This year, our Pageant will be online. To learn about how you can participate in the pageant, reach out to MiaLisa.
We also hold a Children’s Easter Vigil every Holy Saturday, where these older children re-enact bible stories for younger children, and we celebrate the first Easter Eucharist. Last year, because of the pandemic, we had a fully digital Easter Vigil. To watch the Vigil click here.
