- Heads up!! WEAR RED on Sunday, June 5, Pentecost!! Start looking through the clothes in your closet and in your drawers. There must be something RED! Red is the color of the day for Pentecost. Don’t be left out of sea of RED!! June 5, WEAR RED!!
- “Covid Comfort” & DOTS!!…Do you need 6′ spacing to feel safe at church? Do you prefer elbow and fist bumps? Are you hankering for hugs? Well, now we have a new way for you to communicate your level of comfort with physical contact during Covid.
- There are stickers available for you to put on your name tag or your shirt to let all of us know how close you’re willing to get when we’re greeting each other.
- A RED • dot will indicate that you’d like to maintain social distance (peace sign, air hug); a YELLOW • dot will tell us that you feel comfortable coming closer and would like a wave or a fist or elbow bump as a greeting; and a GREEN • dot will indicate that you are willing to be close and are potentially open to hugs.

- Meetings with various teams at St. Mary’s (e.g., Communications, Buildings and Grounds)
- Outdoor gatherings with small groups of St. Marians over a meal or snacks/drinks, hosted by volunteer households at their homes or at a local park.
- Opportunities to sign up for one-on-one meetings with Lindsey.
Getting to Know Our Next Rector
In just a few short weeks we will be meeting our next rector for Saint Mary’s – The Reverend Lindsey Briggs. In June we plan on doing a series of articles in the Weekly to help our community get to know Reverend Lindsey a little bit better. To help Reverend Lindsey with what “inquiring minds want to know”, please feel free to submit your questions to help develop our June articles – Click HERE. In the meantime, you’re invited to follow Reverend Lindsey on Instagram @revlindseybriggs.
Pentecost Picnic!
Back by popular demand – a Picnic on Pentecost!
That’s right, we will once again have a picnic following the Pentecost service on June 5th! We will gather to celebrate the ending of the program year and (hooray!) welcome our new rector, Reverend Lindsey Briggs. Burgers, hot dogs, veggie options and beverages will be provided. Please bring a salad, side dish or dessert to share.
If you are interested in helping with the picnic please contact Ginny Deluca or Julie Thomas.

An update on St. Mary’s KIVA loan to Tejedoras De Sajputa Group in Guatemala–Making a Difference in the World
In a rural area of the state of Quiche, the women carefully protect their methods of weaving. Margarita, 26, says that her community’s woven fabrics are their cultural heritage because the methods come from her ancestors. That is why the fabrics and embroideries of the traditional blouses that Margarita weaves and embroiders are unique in her community. She explains that each artisan woman uses her own creativity to give life, style and color to the traditional shirts. She has been running this business for more than four years. Through her ability to weave and embroider traditional blouses, Margarita generates her own income. She continues to capitalize on her business to meet consumer demand. That is why Margarita took out her first loan with Kiva in July 2021. With this financing, she was able to purchase yarn in various colors in bulk. As a result of her efforts, Margarita can send her only child, a nine-year-old daughter, to school.
