Worship via Zoom with Coffee Hours to follow—10:00am
During the Easter season, we welcome back the Alleluias, the Baptismal Covenant, and the Offertory Sentences (“God be in my head and in my thinking….)! We’ll continue having announcements at the beginning of the service and spiritual communion will be celebrated throughout the Easter season. A “Question of the Day” will be posed and we’ll have the opportunity to share our thoughts with others during our first Virtual Coffee Hour. The Reverend Katie Capurso Ernst will be our guest preacher. She is the founder of Transfiguration Minneapolis, a new worshipping community within the Episcopal Church whose focus is “cultivating a space for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people to gather and experience healing from the wounds and exhaustion of racism.”
- First Reading: Acts 4:32-35
- Second Message: a sacred or secular message TBD
- Gospel: John 20:19-31

Liturgy Matters at Saint Mary’s in the Great 50 Days of Easter
by The Rev. Susan M. Moss
There is an ancient Easter hymn in which the Risen Christ addresses Adam and Eve
(you and me!) with these powerful words:
Rise up, work of my hands, you who were created in my image, rise!
Let us leave this place [of the dead] for you are in me and I am in you;
together we form only one person and cannot be separated…the banquet is ready…
the treasure houses of all good things lie open…
Rise up from your tombs and live!
I hope you all had a virtual seat at this year’s Children’s Easter Vigil, either while it was occurring or the recording. Such inspiring creativity by the young members of Saint Mary’s! A shout out of thanks and heartfelt appreciation Mia Lisa, the Vigil’s producer, editor, coach and creative director. Among her super powers is the ability to inspire confidence and creativity in children and youth while conveying what it means to be followers of Jesus.
A shout out of gratitude as well to Jim and Vonda for their many creative musical talents that supported our prayers and our worship in the seasons of Lent and Easter, seasons made especially challenging given this pandemic-restricted virtual world.
Jim will be taking an earned mini sabbatical for the next 6 Sunday’s, returning to Sunday worship on Pentecost Sunday May 23.
Onward into the Great 50 Days of Easter! May the Risen Christ continue to transform and renew us and Saint Mary’s with new life.

Now Easy Online Giving on Saint Mary’s Website
Now you can quickly and easily donate to Saint Mary’s online via credit or debit card, or by bank account! Our new, secure online e-giving program, established in conjunction with Vanco, is now available on the front page of the Saint Mary’s website. Simply go to the website and click on “Contribute” in the heading or scroll down and click on “Give Online 2021 Stewardship” and you will be able to quickly make online donations. You can also use the following link: https://secure.myvanco.com/YNB0.
The Vanco e-giving service allows you to direct your giving to several different funds on either a one-time or recurring basis. One-time gifts involve three easy steps. If you want to establish recurring donations, such as weekly or monthly pledge donations to our general fund, you will need to set up an account through Vanco, which is also easy to do.
Credit and debit cards have a 2.75% administrative fee attached to each transaction, and payments via a bank account include a 1% fee. You can choose to cover these fees with your donation. Of course, you still have the option of mailing in your donations or setting up auto-pay through your bank, options which do not have administrative fees.
Following is a link to instructions for donating through our new e-giving site, including screen shots and written instructions. Check out our giving site now on the St. Mary’s website or at https://secure.myvanco.com/YNB0, and thanks for your donations, regardless of how you choose to give!
If you have questions or need more information, feel free to contact Rex Holzemer at rexaholzemer@gmail.com or 651-308-4895.
Mission Area Gatherings
You (yes, you) are enthusiastically invited and encouraged to attend your upcoming Mission Area Gathering. One of the recurring themes that came out of the discernment committees is that mission areas are crucial are for conducting experiments in discipleship, innovation, vitality, and story-sharing. We are called to be Christians together, and that means getting outside our faith community’s walls and finding out what our nearest Episcopalian neighbors are up to.

FAQs:
What are In-District meetings?
They are meetings organized and designed by ISAIAH volunteer leaders inviting their representatives into a co-governing conversation.
Why is it important?
It is an opportunity to hear how our representatives will be (or not be) champions of an agenda that honors our values.
Why attend?
It lets our representatives know that we are engaged and looking for their bold leadership and ongoing support of our agenda. It gives our representatives the support and documentation they need from our numbers and narratives as they communicate to colleagues and champion our agenda. It gives us an opportunity to participate more fully in our democracy.

Relationships & Common Good
Now that we’re in the Easter season, the time of rebirth and new growth, the Vestry will soon bring suggestions on how our St. Mary’s family might engage in community conversations around a question important to us: What would church look like that serves our St. Mary’s common good and strengthens our relationships? If you have thoughts or reflections you’d like to share immediately, please talk with any member of the Vestry or email our wardens HERE.
