Money and Stewardship

How we manage our financial resources  (we call it ‘stewardship’)

Access our Online Pledge Form for 2023 – Click here

We give of ourselves – our time, talent, and financial resources, out of a place of gratitude to God.  Gratitude is a primary value at St. Mary’s.  How we think about sharing our money is not born from a place of scarcity or fear, it’s from a place of abundance and generosity as a way of life, first modeled to us by God and held before us as the path to life.

St. Mary’s is a blessed and engaged community. We are proud and filled with gratitude to serve and be enriched by the many ministries of our church, both to ourselves but also to the world around us. The reality is, it takes financial resources to maintain these ministries and satisfy our day-to-day operating expenses. Your support of our church and its ministries, in whatever way you are able, is deeply appreciated and impactful. To find information on how to fulfill your pledge or make a one-time donation, visit the How to Give page.

All of our finances are transparent – which means, anyone can see any of them, all the time, down to how much the rector makes or we spend on the light bill. Our income comes only from member pledges, fundraising, building rentals and donations for the use of the space, plus some small income from investments. If you have any question about our finances, please feel free to contact Catherine Nueschler, who is the elected leadership person in charge of our financial affairs. You can also visit the finance page here.

We don’t have huge loads of money, but we do care for some bequests given over the years. Planned Giving is something we encourage, you can find more about how that works on this page.

Investing in a socially responsible way is very important to us. To hear about the values with which we invest, click here.

Thank you for all you bring to St. Mary’s. If you have any questions about submitting a pledge or contribution, please feel free to contact the Treasurer at finance@saintmarysepiscopal.org.

Our decisions about how to conduct activities at St. Mary’s are guided by our belief that it is our duty to care for one another as children of God, as well as by guidance from the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota.
