Thanks to everyone who brought “stuff” and helped with the Rummage Sale. It was a great success in so many ways! Although final numbers aren’t in yet, anticipated income for St Mary’s is approximately $1500-$1800. And better yet, we reached out to our neighbors and were able to meet so many community needs:
- The refugee family that St Mary’s is sponsoring came on Friday evening and was able to take whatever they needed.
- Women from “Breaking Free” (an organization helping people breaking free from sex trafficing) were invited to come and take whatever they needed.
- Shoes were given to “Dress for Success” (an organization under the umbrella of the Episcopal Church that offers clothing, shoes and accessories to people entering the work force).
- Stuffed animals were donated to St Columbo’s where they’ll be given to childen who need a cuddly friend.
- Books were given to “Bone Shaker” (an organization that supplies books to women who are incarcerated).
- Children’s books will be put in our “Little Library” so there are books for children as well as adults!
