“Advent Begins in the Dark”, sermon by guest preacher Colleen Carpenter, 12-1-19

December 1, 2019 by Jim wheeler

“Advent Begins in the Dark” was delivered by Colleen Carpenter, our guest lay preacher today at Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church, on this the 1st Sunday of Advent, December 2th, 2019.

Please consider joining us for a service; we provide three regular service times:  7:45 AM without music, 9:00 AM contemporary liturgy and music, and 11:00 AM traditional Rite II. Our services are beautiful blends of our talents, traditions and new energy as we follow Jesus.

You are always welcome here.

For 133 years, Saint Mary’s has been a Christ-centered community with a mission to express God’s love for all people. Saint Mary’s can be found on the corner of Laurel and Howell in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Other services, activities, and outreach are central to our mission and our community. Your interest, energy, and participation in any of these and other new callings are welcomed.

Please feel welcome to stop in, check us out, and walk with us for a while.

covid 19 update

This page may not reflect St. Mary’s current programming, as we continue to emerge from the pandemic. As of June 2021, for example, we have both in-person and Zoom options for attending our Sunday 10:00 a.m. worship service.

Find the current status of all St. Mary’s programming and community activities on THIS PAGE. Join us!

Our decisions about how to conduct activities at St. Mary’s are guided by our belief that it is our duty to care for one another as children of God, as well as by guidance from the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota.
