St. Mary’s adult choir is called the Magnificat Choir, after Mary’s song of praise in the book of Luke.
This group is open to older teens through senior citizens and always welcomes new members.
Most singers sing for the entire program year (Sept – May) but that is not required. If you can sing only for a season the choir would still love to have you. Music ranges from chant to Baroque to contemporary choral writing, and the choir leads service music and presents an anthem each week at the 10:30 service. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7 – 8:30 pm and Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 10:15. Singers are encouraged to attend both rehearsals, but if one is unable and can only be at one regularly, that can work as music is planned out well in advance. Choral singing is fun and improves one’s well-being and health!
