Our financial resources (we call it ‘stewardship’)
We give of ourselves – our time, talent, and financial resources, out of a place of
gratitude to God. Gratitude is a primary value at St. Mary’s. How we think about sharing our money is not born from a place of scarcity or fear, it’s from a place of abundance and generosity as a way of life, first modeled to us by God and held before us as the path to life.
St. Mary’s is a blessed and engaged community. We are proud and filled with gratitude to serve and be enriched by the many ministries of our church, both to ourselves but also to the world around us. The reality is, it takes financial resources to maintain these ministries and satisfy our day-to-day operating expenses. Your support of our church and its ministries, in whatever way you are able, is deeply appreciated and impactful.
All of our finances are transparent – which means, anyone can see any of them, all the time, down to how much the rector makes or we spend on the light bill. Our income comes only from member pledges, fundraising, building donations, plus some small income from investments. If you have any question about our finances, please feel free to contact Catherine Neuschler, she’s the elected leadership person in charge of our financial affairs. You can also visit the finance page here.
Planned Giving is something we encourage, you can find more about how that works on this page.
We don’t have huge loads of money, but we do care for some bequests given over the years, and doing that in a socially responsible way is very important to us. To hear about the values with which we invest, click here.
Thank you for all you bring to St. Mary’s. If you have any questions about submitting a pledge or contribution, please feel free to contact us.
